Abstract:
Education is one of the most important issues that countries, especially developed ones, focus on. Its significance is evident in several aspects, including equipping individuals with the essential skills for their professional lives, which enhances their self-confidence and ability to achieve their goals. Education also fosters critical thinking and logical analysis, helping learners make informed decisions. Additionally, it opens new horizons for knowledge, enabling learners to understand and interact effectively with the world around them. Education is not merely a means of acquiring knowledge; it is a powerful tool for achieving comprehensive development and building a better future for individuals and communities. It is considered one of the main reasons for the advancement of nations and societies. Abdul Hamid Sharaf (2002) emphasizes that educational programs are an important aspect of the development of physical education in general and motor skills in particular. He explains that the program outlines the necessary work to achieve the intended goals, provides concrete foundations for accomplishing tasks, and specifies the areas of activity to be undertaken within a certain timeframe. The program consists of a set of activities and practical practices for a defined period, according to a purposeful planning and organization that benefits the learner through improvement. for an effective learning program. Zaid Muhammad Al-Hawari (2002) confirms that Marzano's model of learning dimensions is one of the models of constructivist theory that allows learners to take an active role in acquiring knowledge and developing their creative thinking. It is based on two types of interaction: one between the teacher and the learner, and the other among the learners themselves. This model provides learners with means and methods of learning, not only from their teacher but also from each other. By using this collaborative approach, learners are more likely to retain information in further applications. Mohammed Ahmed Abdullah (2006) emphasizes that hockey has fundamental aspects that distinguish it from other team sports, as most team sports rely on a ball for their performance. In contrast, the essential skills in hockey depend not only on the ball but also on the use of the hockey stick during play. To master these skills, a player must learn the correct use of the hockey stick, in addition to footwork and other basic skills. Through teaching the basics of field hockey course to students of the second year and the specialized stage, the researchers noticed a weakness in the cognitive level of students in field hockey skills, which resulted in a weakness in the level of skill performance despite the effort made by the faculty members in charge of the teaching process, and the researchers attribute this to the scarcity of the spread of hockey in the governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt in general and the governorates of Upper Egypt in particular, which caused a lack of understanding and awareness of students to the nature of skill performance and their lack of understanding of the steps The hockey course is one of the courses that have difficulty learning its skills, as Mohammed Ahmed Abdullah (2006)(21) confirms that it mainly needs motor compatibility between the hands controlling the stick and between the eye and the leg of students as well. Whereas the recent trends in the educational process call for the need for the learner to be positive to obtain experience from the educational situation to achieve the desired educational goals and that the use of educational models is one of the factors that help in producing an education process with a strong foundation because it is based on the development of thought and mind among learners, which leads to the learner's access to the goal they aspire to, and that the use of methods, strategies or models that do not give importance to the learner is one of the factors whose return is negative and unclear When the learner, when using models based on cooperative learning and problem-solving, his return will be positive and of great benefit and effectiveness for learners. This is what invited researchers to investigate new models, strategies and teaching methods derived from a clear educational philosophy that contributes to the development of learners' abilities and helps students to participate, think and analyze, and also helps them gain educational experiences and achieve the greatest amount of the learning process. Through what researchers have seen from studies such as the study of Ahmed Saher Hassanein (2023) (1), the study of Dina Metwally Ahmed (2021) (6), the study of Samer Abdel Hadi Ahmed (2022) (14), the study of Muhammad Ahmed Al-Khudari (2020) (20), the study of Bahy Ahmed Mahmoud (2018) (3), and the study of Heba Muhammad Noman (2019) (27), which used the Marzano model for the dimensions of learning in various games such as basketball, football, tennis, swimming, gymnastics and boxing, and all studies praised the effectiveness of the Marzano model and its effective results. In teaching the skills of various games. This may contribute to creating a good educational climate that keeps pace with modern educational philosophies that call for the need to keep pace with scientific progress in terms of using models and teaching methods that make the learner a participant in the educational process that achieves interaction between learners, teachers, teachers, and themselves. Hyun & Jin (2012) suggest that the learner should not receive knowledge passively, but should build it through his activity and active participation in the learning process (29:51). In light of modern educational trends, which call for the importance of using modern teaching methods and methods that develop the learners' abilities to think, which works to activate the role of the learner in the educational process, and among these models is the Marzano model for the dimensions of learning, which is one of the modern educational models that arouse the interest of learners and push them to learn and their longing for knowledge, which does not depend on memorization only, but contributes significantly to the development of the learner's cognitive structure, as it represents a scientific method in research, thinking, analysis and access to conclusions and give appropriate solutions. Whereas scientific research begins in terms of what the researchers have completed and in response to their recommendations to use the model in various sports, and the belief of researchers in the cause of scientific research trying to achieve the best effectiveness to teach field hockey skills to students, which prompted researchers to design an educational program using the Marzano model and know its impact on the level of performance of some hockey skills. Research Objective: The research aims to design an educational program using the Marzano model for the dimensions of learning and to know its impact on the level of performance of some field hockey skills for third-year students specializing in field hockey teaching. Research Hypotheses: There are statistically significant differences between the averages of the scores of the pre- and post-measurements in the level of skill performance of the skills under research for the experimental group in favor of the post-measurement. Research Procedures: Research Methodology: The researcher employed a quasi-experimental method with a one-group design using pre-test and post-test measurements, as it is suitable for the nature of the research. Research Community and Sample: Research Community: The research community included students majoring in Field Hockey Teaching at the Faculty of Physical Education, New Valley University, for the academic year 2023/2024, totaling (26) students. Research Sample: The research sample was selected using a purposive sampling method, consisting of (26) students from the Field Hockey Teaching major at the Faculty of Physical Education, New Valley University, for the first semester of the academic year 2023/2024. A total of (20) students were chosen as the main sample, in addition to (6) students as a pilot sample. Conclusions: In light of the objective of the research and hypothesis and within the limits of the research sample and based on statistical treatments and the results indicated by the researcher was able to reach the following conclusions: 1. The educational program using the Marzano model of learning dimensions has a positive effect on improving the level of skill performance of field hockey teaching students. 2. The educational program using the Marzano model of learning dimensions has a positive impact on students' attitudes towards the field hockey course. 3. The educational program using the Marzano model of learning dimensions has a positive effect on the development of productive habits of mind. 4. Diversity in the use of different strategies has a positive impact on students' improvement and integration into learning field hockey skills. 5. Collaborative work among students helped to instill a spirit of cooperation among students, which led to increased student productivity. Recommendations 1. Applying the Marzano model in the faculties of sports science in teaching field hockey skills because of its positive effects on learning hockey skills. 2. Apply the Marzano model of learning dimensions in teaching other hockey skills. 3. Conducting studies using the Marzano model in different sports. 4. The need to hold introductory workshops on different teaching models. 5. Updating and developing teaching methods through the use of teaching models in learning that benefit students theoretically and practically.
