STUDIES ON 6-ANISYL-4-PYRAZOLINONYL-2,3,4,5-TETRAHYDROPYRIDAZIN-3-ONE

beta-(p-methoxybenzoyl) acrylic acid 1 reacts with 1,3-diphenyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one to give the adduct 2 which condense with p-chlorobenzaldehyde to give the arylidene derivative 3. Reaction of 2 with hydrazine hydrate affords the pyridazinone 4. The reaction of pyridazinone with ethyl bromoacetate, anisaldehyde, phosphorus oxychloride and phosphorus pentasulfide are also described.
