The current research seeks to reveal the relationship between self-defeating behaviors and narcissistic personality disorder among university students, understanding and explaining the nature of differences in narcissistic personality disorder and destructive behaviors according to gender (males - females). by different specialization (scientific - literary) , knowing the possibility of predicting some dimensions of self-defeating behaviors with narcissistic personality disorder among university students and understanding the personality dynamics of high self-defeating behaviors and narcissistic personality disorder that distinguish them from the personality dynamics of low self-defeating behaviors and narcissistic personality disorder ,to achieve this goal, the research was conducted on a sample of (400) students from the Faculty of Education, Zagazig University, from the scientific and literary departments ,Their ages ranged from (19: 22), with a mean age of (20.5) and a standard deviation of (1.11), after applying the scale of self-defeating behaviors, and the scale of narcissistic personality disorder, the most important results, there is a positive statistically significant relationship at the level (0.05) between self-defeating behaviors and self-centered narcissism, and there is a positive statistically significant relationship at the level (0.01) between self-defeating behaviors and interpersonal narcissism, and there isn’t a statistically significant effect for the specialty factors (literary/scientific) and gender (male/female) and the interaction between them on the narcissistic disorder of university students, while there is a statistically significant effect for the factors of specialization (literary/scientific) and gender (male/female) and the interaction between them on the self-defeating behaviors of university students in favor of female scientific, and it predicts Some dimensions of self-defeating behaviors in narcissistic personality disorder among university students, and the personality dynamics of high self-destructive behaviors and high narcissistic personality disorders compared to low self-destructive behaviors and narcissistic personality disorder.
