Abstract:
Based on the study findings, SD impaired uterine contractile function, disturbed micromorphological structure, and enhanced oxidant–antioxidant and apoptosis imbalance. These outcomes suggested the potential contribution of sleep disturbances to the onset and advance of labor. In addition, this study highlighted the importance of a controlled MMP9 and TGF-β signaling system in uterine development and function precisely during stressful conditions. Understanding their role in uterine tissue remodeling and function could help design new approaches for the prediction and management of SD complications during pregnancy. However, further investigation is required to identify their potential pathophysiological mechanisms.
