Theresultsofstudiesregardingtheeffectofstatinonpsoriasisarecon tradictory.Thestudiesrecommendedadditionofstatintothetreatment of psoriasis, suggested that statins have anti-inflammatory effect throughinhibitionofpro-inflammatorycytokinessuchastumornecro sis factor-alpha, interleukin-1and-6, andstimulationof shiftingfrom Th1toTh2cellsbesideitslipidloweringeffectthatreducesthemeta boliccomplicationsassociatedwithpsoriasis
