Abstract:
The societal challenges and changes have multiplied in the Egyptian society, especially after the 25th of January which reflected its effects on all aspects of life;politically, economically, socially and culturally.These challenges posed their repercussions on the educational system and made it a necessity to review its philosophy, programs and its administration system. Thus, seriously considering the positive interaction with these transformations is the main pillar through which the educational system could face these societal challenges and changes. In spite of the progress achieved by the new policies since 2011 in the social and educaƟonal aspects, many criticisms have been directed to the education system accusing it of not being adequate at adapting to the cultural changes. Moreover, it is accused of being isolated from the current changes in Egyptians today's life that have an obvious significant impact on all stages of the Egyptian schools. Mainly, it became a must to review the Egyptian education system to face these challenges and meet the societal needs that resulted from them; as the educational change is not in isolation from the political, the economic, or the social reality. Hence, the educational change significance is reflected in the way in which it faces the movement of societal changes and taking the responsibility as a guide to the educational practices and their applications that could achieve the goals of required society. So, it is obvious that the educational change is closely related to the political, economic and social changes.Based on the aforementioned discussion, education must provide the society with the professionally educated cadres capable of dealing with these challenges and able meet the world competitive standards in the field of scientific research. Consequently, It is a crystal clear necessity to search the educational repercussions in the light of some societal challenges in an attempt to find the correlation between both of them.
