The aim of the research is to verify the effectiveness of teaching science using the project-based STEM approach (PBL) in developing applied practical thinking skills and academic integration among primary school students. To achieve this, the researcher prepared (a guide for the teacher in the Natural Resources Unit on Earth) using the STEM approach based on Projects - Testing Applied Practical Thinking Skills - Academic Integration Scale). The research sample amounted to (102) male and female students. They were divided into two groups, an experimental group and a control group, and by applying the pre- and post-research tools to the research sample, and after collecting and analyzing the data, several results were reached, the most important of which is the presence of a statistically significant difference at the significance level (0.01) between the average scores of students in the experimental and control groups in the post-application of the two research tools (applied practical thinking skills - academic engagement scale) in favor of the students in the experimental group and in favor of the post-application. The results also confirmed that the size of the effect of using the project-based STEAM approach in teaching the selected unit in the science book for the fifth grade Primary school was significant in developing applied practical thinking skills and the dimensions of academic Which confirms the effectiveness and significant impact of the project-based STEM approach in teaching science.
