The effectiveness of an interactive electronic course in the methods of teaching science based on Web Quests on developing some self-learning skills and Mindfulness among students of the scientific divisions at the Faculty of Education.
Summary:
The aim of the research is to verify the effectiveness of an electronic course in the methods of teaching science based on Web Quests ,To develop some self-learning skills and Mindfulness among the scientific students of the Faculty of Education, To achieve this goal, the researcher prepared (an electronic course in the methods of teaching science based on Web Quests - a scale of self-learning skills - a scale of Mindfulness), The research sample amounted to (140) male and female students from the fourth year students (Physics - Chemistry - Biology) at the Faculty of Education, Zagazig University, They were divided into two groups: the experimental group, which numbered (70), and was represented by the students of my divisions (physics - chemistry) and studied the electronic course The subject of the current research using Web Quests, and the control group numbering (70) represented by students of the (Biological) Division, who studied the same electronic course that The researcher prepared it in the usual way, which is the lecture, and the research identified four main skills for self-learning, which are skills(Library and reading - communication - employment of computers and the Internet - calendar) under which 15 other sub-skills fall The research also identified five dimensions of Mindfulness, represented by: (observing - describing - acting consciously - not making judgments - not interacting with the internal experience), By applying the pre and post research tools to the research sample, and after collecting and analyzing data, several results were reached, the most important of which are:
1- There is a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.01) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the post application of the two research tools (the self-learning skills scale - the Mindfulness scale) in favor of the experimental group students and in favor of the post application.
2- The results confirmed that the effect of the electronic course on the methods of teaching science according to the Web Quests was large In the development of self-learning skills and dimensions of Mindfulness identified in the research among the students of the experimental group Where the value of 2 for the self-learning skills scale as a whole (0.96) and for Mindfulness scale as a whole This confirms the effectiveness and the large impact of the electronic course on the methods of teaching science according to the Web Quests. (0.95)
-- In light of the results of the current research, I recommend the need to pay attention to preparing and designing various university courses electronically In light of the technological methods and innovations in the faculties of education, and the interest in education based on the Web Quests Being one of the modern teaching methods and models that contribute to the development of self-learning skills and improve the level of Mindfulness of learners.
