The effect of TABATA training on developing aerobic and anaerobic endurance and footwork for junior kumite karate players

Abstract:
The research aims to study the effect of TABATA training on the development of aerobic and anaerobic endurance and foot movements for kumite juniors in karate. The researcher used the experimental method by following the experimental design for two groups, one experimental and the other control, using pre- and post-measurements for both groups. The research sample was chosen intentionally and included (32) karate juniors under 16 years old at Al-Rowad Club in 10th of Ramadan, registered with the Egyptian Karate Federation for the 2018-2019 season. The researcher also used (8) juniors from the same research community and outside the main research sample to conduct the exploratory study and scientific transactions. The researcher applied the special training program for Tabata training (8 weeks at a rate of 3 training units per week) for the experimental group. The most important conclusions were that Tabata training has a positive effect on the development of the special physical abilities of kumite juniors, Tabata special training has a positive effect on the development of aerobic and anaerobic endurance for kumite juniors, training Tabata special has a positive effect on the development of foot movements for young kumite players. There were statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in the post-measurement of the variables of special physical abilities, aerobic and anaerobic endurance, and foot movements in favor of the experimental group. There were improvement rates for the post-measurement compared to the pre-measurement for the research sample members in the variables of special physical abilities, aerobic and anaerobic endurance, and foot movements, which ranged between (4.44%: 34.65%) in the experimental group and ranged between (1.37%: 14.38%) in the control group.
