Abstract:
Effect of total body resistance training on some physical variables and the level of skillful performance of squash players. § Mohaed Ahmed Abd alla Ibrahim Introduction and research problem: Squash is one of the sports that has witnessed significant development in recent times due to Egyptian players topping the world rankings and its widespread popularity among young players, which has made many coaches search for different and modern training methods that match the progress and change that has come to the game. The game has become very fast and requires strenuous training, especially on the striking hand and feet due to the large number of lunges during strikes. Total body resistance training is considered the best type of training used to improve striking. Therefore, the squash player must have a sufficient amount of muscular strength and muscular endurance, according to his performance requirements, which require him to do so. The player also needs the ability to go to the ball very quickly, which requires explosive strength, speed, and making the necessary lunges before hitting the ball. As well as returning to the positioning point as quickly as possible until the match is under control, and repeating the above throughout the field, whether the front, midfield, or backfield, while repeating all the skills with the opponent in an overlapping and repetitive manner over the course of the match, which is not limited by time, and which must be It is performed quickly and powerfully, and as a result of its repetition, it is necessary for the player to have strength and muscular endurance, especially the striking hand. Squash requires a degree of ability or strength characterized by speed, as this physical element represents great importance in this sport, as it appears in the different types of strikes, where the ball is hit with maximum force and speed together to upset the opponent’s balance, as well as sudden movements from rest, which require high ability in the muscles of the arms. To hit the ball again quickly, which requires a high amount of strength and speed together to reach the goal. Search goal: This research aims to identify: 1- The effect of using total body resistance training on developing the endurance performance of the arms and legs and some special physical characteristics of squash players. 2- The effect of using total body resistance training to improve the performance of some complex skill performances for squash players. Research hypotheses: 1- There are statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-measurements in favor of the post-measurement in the endurance of the performance of the arms and legs and some special physical characteristics of squash players. 2- There are statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-measurements in favor of the post-measurement in the level of performance of some complex skill performances for squash players. Search terms: Total Body Resistance Exercise: These are exercises that rely on using the body’s weight against gravity through a hanging device consisting of two nylon bands without any rubber that are adjustable in length and have handles and foot straps. They are used to develop all elements of physical fitness. Its exercises include the entire body, and are suitable for all groups, males, females, healthy people, people with special needs, athletes, and non-athletes. Research Methodology: The researcher used the experimental method due to its suitability to the type and nature of this research through an experimental design using pre- and post-measurements for one experimental group. Search sample: The research community represents the junior squash clubs for the under-17 stage in the Arab Republic of Egypt, their number is (21) clubs, and the number of players registered in the records of the Egyptian Squash Federation for the training year 2020/2021 AD is (149) juniors. The researcher selected the research sample in a deliberate manner from the junior squash players for the under-17 year stage from Al-Zohour Sports Club, numbering (12) juniors, in addition to the sample of survey studies from Al-Ahly Sports Club, numbering (8) juniors, bringing the total sample to (20) juniors. Conclusions: The researcher was able to reach the following conclusions: 1- Total body resistance training for 12 weeks for squash players leads to significant development in some special physical abilities such as (flexibility, agility, strength endurance, and speed endurance). 2- Total body resistance training for 12 weeks increases performance efficiency at the skill and tactical levels.
