: The research aimed to identify the degree of knowledge of the researchers in safe methods for handling agricultural waste, and to determine the degree of efficiency of the researchers in disseminating the guidance message to the beneficiaries in the field of safe handling of agricultural waste, and to determine the relationship between the degree of efficiency of the researchers in disseminating the message and the independent variables studied and the knowledge of the researchers in safe methods for handling agricultural waste (as an intermediate variable), and to attempt to deduce a causal model that determines the path of causal relationships between the independent variables studied in their impact on the knowledge of the researchers in safe methods for handling agricultural waste to improve the efficiency of disseminating the guidance message. The study was conducted in the Sharkia governorate, totaling about 168 agricultural extension agents, representing about 35.5% of the total number of agricultural extension agents in the governorate. Data were collected using a personal interview questionnaire. Several statistical methods were used, including: frequencies, percentages, arithmetic mean, weighted mean, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, Pearson's correlation coefficient, ascending multiple regression analysis, and path analysis. The most important findings were that the majority of respondents had a high level of knowledge of safe handling methods for some agricultural waste, at 80.4% and that more than half of the researchers had an average total score for the efficiency of their diffusion of the guidance message in the field of safe methods for handling agricultural waste, with a percentage of 51.8%.
