Abstract:. The research aimed to reveal the nature of the relationship between perfectionism and psychological divorce among married graduate students at Zagazig University, and to identify the differences between husbands and wives in each of perfectionism and psychological divorce, in addition to identifying some dimensions of perfectionism that predict psychological divorce among married graduate students. In addition to revealing the unconscious psychological factors characteristic of people with high perfectionism associated with psychological divorce, and to achieve this purpose, the research was conducted on a sample of (200) husbands and wives of postgraduate students at Zagazig University (81 husbands - 119 wives), and after applying the study tools represented in the perfectionism scale “Perfectionism” prepared by (Feher et al., 2020), Arabization and legalization by the researcher, and the psychological divorce questionnaire prepared by / Saafan and Sweed (2021), and the subject understanding test for adults (prepared by / Henry Murray), the most important results revealed that there is a positive correlation between perfectionism and psychological divorce, and the absence of statistically significant differences between husbands and wives in each of perfectionism and psychological divorce, and the results of the research also reached the possibility of predicting the degrees of psychological divorce from the total degree For perfectionism and degrees of perfectionism directed at self-criticism, in addition to the presence of psychological unconscious factors characteristic of high perfectionism associated with psychological divorce among spouses.
