Religious pluralism in the city constitution A model for the foundations of peaceful coexistence in a single society Abstract This research deals with an analytical study of Al-Madina constitution in order to elicit the foundations of peaceful coexistence between the multi-religious entities in the same society. This research included the following points: • Documenting the constitution. • Determining the texts related to the foundations of peaceful coexistence contained in the constitution. • The foundations of peaceful coexistence (deduced from the constitution) between religious entities in the city.     It emerged from these studies that the foundations of the peaceful coexistence of religious pluralism have appeared in the Muslim community since its foundation. The Prophet ﷺ laid the necessary foundations for peaceful coexistence between the multi-religious sects in Medina. He declared the social contract, set a reference for the state, secured its people, lands and borders, clarified its identity, implemented the principle of social interdependence between entities, declared respect for customs and traditions, emphasized the sanctity of blood and self-preservation, and the necessity of participation. Defending the homeland, proclaiming the principle of citizenship, making it the primary link between all, and releasing freedom Belief, movement and expression of opinion, and establishing the principle of reconciliation between all parties when a conflict erupts between them, and the principle of individual responsibility and the principle of equality between all citizens of the state regardless of their beliefs and the diversity of their religions. These measures have helped to establish the principle of coexistence in the Islamic State since its inception.
