Abstract:
The current research aims at identifying the differences in work engagement which are due to the variables of gender and years of experience, investigating the relationships between psychological capital and work engagement, between job satisfaction and work engagement, as well as assessing the effect of the interaction between psychological capital and job satisfaction on work engagement among primary stage teachers. The participants included (398) male and female teachers at the primary stage, the psychological capital questionnaire prepared by (Luthans, Youssef et al., 2007), the job satisfaction scale for teachers, prepared by (Asmaa Abdel-Moneim Ahmed, 2021), and the work engagement scale prepared by (Schaufeli et al., 2002). Using the two independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance, "Pearson correlation coefficient", Multivariate analysis of variance. The results showed that there is no statistically significant differences in work engagement due to the variables of gender and years of experience. There is a statistically positive correlation between psychological capital and work engagement, and between job satisfaction and its two dimensions: personal satisfaction with the profession and satisfaction with the work environment and conditions and work engagement, and between satisfaction with management and supervision and vigor, and between satisfaction with job promotion opportunities and work engagement and its dimensions: vigor and absorption, and between satisfaction with management, supervision and work engagement. and no significant relationship between satisfaction with salary and rewards in work engagement, and there is a statistically significant effect of psychological capital and job satisfaction and interaction between them on work engagement.
