Abstract The study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of a program based on group play in improving the adaptive behavior skills of children with mental disabilities who are integrated into general education schools. To achieve this goal, the study was conducted on a sample of (12) boys and girls from children with mental disabilities in integration schools, and their ages ranged between (6-9) years, with an arithmetic mean of (7.08) years, and a standard deviation of (0.99), and a coefficient of Their intelligence is between (55-70) and they were relied upon in the current study. The sample was divided into two experimental and control groups, each of which consisted of (6) children. The researcher used the following tools: 2011), the measure of the economic, social and cultural level of the family (prepared by: Muhammad Saafan, and Doaa Khattab, 2016), the measure of adaptive behavior (regulation / Abdel Aziz Al-Shakhs, 2020), the training program based on group play (prepared by the researcher). The results of the study revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group in adaptive behavior skills before and after applying the program in favor of the post-measurement; This confirms the effectiveness of the program based on group play in improving the adaptive behavior skills of children with mental disabilities who are integrated into general education schools.
