Abstract:
Cochlear implants help deaf children develop expressive language, recognize meanings, and use words. Therefore, the study aimed to verify the effectiveness of a training program using multimedia to develop speech perception in improving expressive language in the educational environment for children with cochlear implants. To achieve this goal, the study relied on the experimental approach. The study sample was divided into two equal groups: an experimental and a control, each of which consisted of 15 children with cochlear implants, and their ages ranged between (8-14) years. The study relied on a set of tools: Preliminary data form, Stanford-Binet intelligence test, the arabic language test (ALT)- revised 2, and the training program using multimedia to develop speech perception in improving expressive language in the educational environment for children with cochlear implants. The program was implemented in 80 sessions, 2 sessions per week within a period of 10 months. The study sample and all the study hypotheses were fulfilled, which confirms the effectiveness of the training program using multimedia to develop speech perception in improving expressive language in the educational environment for children with cochlear implants.
