Abstract:
The current study aimed to identify the effect of a program based on rational, emotive-behavior counseling in reducing avoidance personality disorder in stuttering adolescents and to verify the continuity of the program in the past.The extension program was based on the mentoring method based on Ellis's theory and the study sample consisted of (12) stuttering adolescents With an average time age of (17.6) and a standard deviation (0,359) And their intelligence coefficients ranged between (90-110), they were divided into (6) stuttering adolescents (male-female)in the experimental group and the same as the control The study used several tools: the Stanford InterseX Scale of Intelligence Fifth Image (Legalization and Arabization of Safwat Faraj, 2011), the stuttering intensity measurement tool( Legalization/sayyid Ahmed Al-Bahas, 2010), and the Avoidant Personality Disorder Scale (prepared by Haniyeh Abdullah, 2021),Questionnaire of irrational thoughts of stuttering adolescents (prepared by Mohammed Al-Sayyid Abdulrahman, 1994), Personal Interview Form (Prepared by Hassan Mustafa-2009) ,and the rational emotional behavioral counseling program (prepared by the researcher), the results of which resulted in the effectiveness of the rational emotional behavioral counseling program in reducing avoidant personality disorder and the continuity of its effectiveness during the follow-up period.
