Abstract:
"This study aimed to apply the situational approach in evaluating the leadership styles of Likert, which are (exploitative authoritative style, benevolent authoritative style, consultative democratic style, and participative democratic style) within the framework of the Egyptian management environment, by developing a proposed model suits the nature of work as well as the administrative levels in the sectors under study. These sectors are; the government sector, the industrial sector, the scientific sector, and the non-profit service sector. The researcher followed the descriptive and analytical approach in addition to the field research method, and the primary data were collected through a questionnaire list. The researcher relied on the comprehensive inventory method at the upper management level, and she has taken a random sample from the managers working in the sectors under study. The sample size was (359) managers, with a response rate of 91.6%. The results of the study showed that governmental organizations tend to use the exploitative authoritative style at the level of the upper, the middle, and the supervisory management, followed by the benevolent authoritative style, then the consultative democratic style, and finally the participative democratic style, while it was found that the industrial organizations tend to apply the consultative democratic style at the upper management level, and apply the benevolent authoritative style at the middle management level and apply the exploitative authoritative at the supervisory management level, while it was found that scientific and non- profit servant organizations tend to apply the participative democratic style at the level of the upper, the middle, and the supervisory management, followed by the consultative democratic style, then the benevolent authoritative style, and finally the exploitative authoritative style.
