The study aims to analyze the evolution of government expenditure and total investment in Egypt during the period 1991 to 2015 and the impact of government expenditure on macroeconomic performance by analyzing its impact on investment and growth as well as on economic and social stability. It aims to analyze indicators of sustainable development in Egypt , The evaluation of the effectiveness of government expenditure and expenditure on investment and their role in achieving sustainable development in Egypt during the study period, the study relied on the tests of co-integration using the methodology of testing limits, based on the use of self-regression of distributed delay periods (ARDL) The study showed that there is a positive effect of total government expenditure and total investment on sustainable development (represented in the real saving logarithm) in the long and short term. The model of spending on the sub-sectors showed a positive effect of the expenditure on education and spending on environmental protection on sustainable development Represented by the real savings logger) in the long term, the negative impact of spending on social protection on the long and short term real savings logarithm, and the absence of any impact on health expenditure on the savings log It protects the long and short term.
