Abstract: |
Objective: This research aimed to study Effectiveness of developing Vertical Stiffness on Footwork speed and Performance level of back and round kicks for Taekwondo players.
Research procedures: The basic research sample is (7) players on whom training program was applied for a period of 8 weeks with 3 training units. All players completed the following tests before and after training program: physical tests, spinning kicks (mom dollyo hurio chagi) test, 360 Roundhouse Kick Tutorial test, and Back kick test (Dwi chagi). Data were processed statistically using the following statistical methods: Mean, Standard deviation, Median, Skewness, Mann-Whitney test, Correlation coefficient, Wilcoxon test, Equation of percentage change.
Results: The proposed training program led to the development Vertical Stiffness, where the rates of improvement reached between (16.08%: 38.11%), some physical variables (Maximum muscular strength of the legs, Horizontal and Vertical muscular power of the legs, Movement speed of the legs) where the rates of improvement reached between (9.40%: 29.2%), footwork speed, where the rates of improvement reached between (31.92%, 33.06%), and Performance level of back and round kicks, where the rates of improvement reached between (35.11%: 36.35%).
Recommendations: Researcher recommends the importance of using the proposed training program to develop Vertical Stiffness, some physical variables, footwork speed, Performance level of back and round kicks, for various self-defense sports and for different age stages.
