This research aimed to develop critical reading skills among students of the Faculty of Specific Education through the strategy of monitoring comprehension, and the problem of this research was identified in the weakness of critical reading skills among students of the Faculty of Specific Education and the lack of modern strategies for the development of these skills in these students, such as the strategy of monitoring comprehension and to reach a solution to this problem, this research went in a set of steps, perhaps the most important of which are: Building a list of critical reading skills suitable for classroom teacher students and community education, determining the foundations of developing critical reading skills through the comprehension monitoring strategy, determining the steps and procedures of the comprehension monitoring strategy, and measuring the effectiveness of the comprehension monitoring strategy to develop critical reading skills for the classroom teacher and community education by building a critical reading skills test, adjusting them, selecting a group of class teacher and community education students, numbering (60), applying the test to them beforehand, and then applying the program to the group Experimental and the number (30), and the application of the test on them dimensionally, and then applied tracking, and the research reached a set of results, perhaps the most important of which are: The effectiveness of using the strategy of monitoring comprehension in the development of critical reading skills among students of the Faculty of Specific Education.
