Abstract:
particular set of characteristics or attitudes of the enterprise. Organizational Organizational climate is a function and interaction of employee with surrounding environment. It is a relatively particular set of characteristics or attitudes of the enterprise. Organizational Organizational climate is a function and interaction of employee with surrounding environment. It is a relatively enduring quality of the internal environment of an enterprise that felt by employees and affects behavior, it is expressed in terms of the values of a climate and the quality of work-life in nursing are problematic to measure due to differences and variation in personal characteristics, culture, organizational and work settings. Aim: This study aimed to compare the organizational climate and quality of work-life of the nurse managers in selected hospitals in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.Methods: A descriptive cross sectional comparative research design was used. Setting: Fayoum University Hospitals, Egypt and capital of Saudi Arabia city Hospitals, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Sample: A convenient sample consisted of 108 nurse managers. Two tools were used; organizational climate and the Quality of work life questionnaires also ethical considerations were ensured. Results: The study showed that the organizational climate opinion of Egyptian nurses with Mean ±SD of (33.78±7) ranged from (20-50), while organizational climate opinion of Saudi nurse managers with Mean ±SD of (34±6.5) ranged from 9 to 45. As regard the quality of nursing work life parameters, there was statistically insignificant difference between Egyptian and Saudi nurse managers regarding to all parameters of quality work life scale P>0.05. There was a highly significant relation between organizational climate opinions and quality of work life of Egyptian and Saudi Arabia nurse managers P<0.001. Conclusion: The study concluded that Saudi nursing managers were higher than Egyptian nursing managers in relation to organizational climates and quality of work life parameters. In an attempt to clarify Effect of Organizational Climate on Quality of work life of nursing managers, the study showed that the highly significant relation among studied nurses P≤0.001, in relation to, Communication with non-technical staff, express view and suggestion in decision-making, recognition and competition parameter and the organization gives recognition. No statistically significant difference associations could be revealed between personal characters and all quality of work life scale parameters of Egyptian Nurses. There was a highly significant relation between organizational climate opinions and quality of work life of Egyptian and Saudi Arabia nurse managers P<0.001. Egyptian nursing managers were having the lowest score than Saudi nursing managers in relation to their performance within working environment. Accordingly, the study recommended that, working environment must be improved to increase quality of nurses’ performance. Effective organizational communication skills must be improved through workshop and training program. Nursing manager should have training program on how to create organizational climate to improve quality of work life.
