Abstract:
Elevated intracranial pressure (EICP) is a significant neurological issue that may lead to permanent neurological sequelae. Various etiologies can lead to EICP including head injury, intracranial mass lesion, disturbance or obstruction of major venous sinuses and occasionally may be idiopathic. The aim of our clinical study was to assess the accuracy of bedside evaluation of elevated intracranial pressure in patients undergoing elective tumor craniotomy by ultrasonographic measurement of optic nerve sheath diameter.
