The current research aims to identify the most important features of the contribution of higher education and the postgraduate educational stage in the United States of America to confronting society’s problems within the scope of scientific research, community service and environmental development. To achieve the goal, the research relied on the comparative approach in accordance with George Bairidi’s approach to describe and analyze the American experience in the field of education’s contribution. Higher degrees in the field of scientific research, community service, environmental development, and the educational postgraduate studies stage, while mentioning some examples from American universities and describing and diagnosing the Egyptian reality, ending with setting a number of recommendations and proposals that can be extracted to activate the role of educational postgraduate studies within society for the possibility of finding solutions to problems within society in accordance with Conditions and resources available within the country.
