Abstract:
The current study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between experiential avoidance and post-traumatic stress disorder among university students, and to reveal the existence of differences between the sexes (males, females) and academic specialization (scientific, literary) and the interaction between them on post-traumatic stress disorder and experiential avoidance, and to identify the dimensions of Experiential avoidance predictors of post-traumatic stress disorder in college students, And knowing the clinical characteristics of high experimental avoidance and post-traumatic stress disorder among university students, where the tools were applied to a sample of (535) university students divided into (196) males and (339) females with an average age of (20,2) and a standard deviation ( 0.942, and the study relied on the descriptive correlative approach and the clinical approach to achieve the goals, and the researcher used the following study tools: the post-traumatic stress disorder scale (prepared by: the researcher), the multidimensional experimental avoidance questionnaire (prepared by / Games et al., 2011) translation and legalization of the researcher, and a form The personal interview (prepared by / Hassan Mustafa Abdel-Moati, 1998) and the subject understanding test for adults (T.A.T), The data was analyzed using the appropriate statistical methods, and the study concluded that there is a positive, statistically significant correlation at the 0.01 level between the degrees of the dimensions of experimental avoidance and the degrees of the dimensions of post-traumatic stress disorder and the total degree of it among members of the total sample of university students, Statistically significant at the 0.01 level between males and females in all dimensions of PTSD and experimental avoidance and their total score, The differences were in favor of females, while there were no statistically significant differences between scientific and literary specialization and the interaction between gender and specialization in the level of PTSD and avoidance Experimental for university students, It also indicated the possibility of predicting the dimensions of post-traumatic stress disorder from experiential avoidance and its dimensions, in addition to the distinctiveness of high experiential avoidance and post-traumatic stress disorder among university students with their own dynamic characteristics, The results were interpreted and recommendations were made in light of the results of the study.
