Abstract:
This study was carried out in security and gaurding dog training center ,belonging to Ministry of Interior,Cario, Egypt . This work include the following heading:- (1) Reproductive behaviour (parturient and maternal behaviour) (1) Mean frequency of urination and defecation were higher in kennel than open yard while Mean frequency of feeding, lying down were higher in open yard than in kennel during pre- parturient stage . (2) Mean time (min ) requried for expelling puppy was higher in open yard than in kennel during parturient stage (3) Mean time (sec) puppy will be contained in its own placental membrane, shedding of placenta (min) and bitch licking their puppies (sec) were higher in open yard than in kennel during post parturient stage (2)Effect of maternal deprivation on the performance and behaviour of puppies (1) Mean frequency of urination and defecation in natural reared puppies were higher than in artificial reared puppies (2) Mean frequency of mewing and whine in artificial reared puppies were higher than in natural reared puppies (3) Mean time and frequency of rest and sleep behaviour of puppies in natural reared puppies were higher than in artificial reared puppies (5) Mean frequency of play and social behaviour of puppies in artificial reared puppies were higher than in natural reared puppies (6) Mean frequency of locomation of puppies in natural reared puppies were higher than in artificial reared puppies (7) Average of eye opening and ear opening per day in artificial reared puppies higher than in natural reared puppies (8) Mean body weight gain (gm /daily ) of puppies in natural reared puppies were higher than in artificial reared puppies (3) puppies human relationship (1)There was a significant difference(p ≤ 0.05) in Tennis ball, squeaky toy, open umbrella, stranger man, stranger woman, pick up, look in mouth, stroke on head, come, sit, stay, drop and wait between natural reared puppies 5.13± 0.14, 4.66± 0. 12, 4.34± 0.12, 4.02± 0.12, 5.25± 0.13, 3.94± 0.12, 4.10± 0.15 ,4.37± 0.144.09± 0.13, 4.90± 0.15, 4.59± 0.14, 4.60± 0.13, and 4.91± 0.12 and artificial reared puppies 3.30± 0.16, 3.50± 0.17, 3.34± 0.12, 3.29± 0.44, 3.57± 0.15 , 3.30± 0.13, 3.40± 0.15 ,3.63± 0.13, 3.66± 0.14, 3.76± 0.15, 3.30± 0.11, 3.17± 0.13and 3.24± 0.12, On the other hand, there was no signifacant difference in roll on side between natural reared puppies 4.18± 0.12 artificial reared puppies 4.00± 0.14 (2) There was no significant difference in novel stimuli test tennis ball, squeaky toy and open umbrella, between male puppies reared with mother till 8 weeks 5.43± 0.34, 4.65± 0.26 and 4.50± 0.24 and female 4.82± 0.254.07± 0.16 and 1.16± 0.22 , male puppies reared with mother till 12 weeks 4.78± 0.32, 5.17± 0.23 and 4.32± 0.23 and female 5.40± 0.18, 4.75± 0.29 and 4.59± 0.27and male orphan puppies 3.52± 0.24, 3.50± 0.32 and3.29± 0.20 and female3.30± 0.21, 3.50± 0.21 and 3.37± 0.1 (3) There was no significant difference in social stimuli test, stranger man and stranger woman between male puppies reared with mother till 8 weeks 4.53± 0.22 and 45.65± 0.22. and female 3.66± 0.27and 4.92± 0.29, male puppies reared with mother till 12 weeks 4.25± 0.27and 5.60± 0.33and female 3.68± 0.18and 4.81± 0.20 and male orphan puppies 3.04± 0.19and 3.7± 0.48and female 3.45± 0.48 and 3.48± 0.20 (4) There was no significant difference in handling test Pick up, Look in mouth, Stroke on head and Roll on side between male puppies reared with mother till 8 weeks 4.46± 0.20, 4.90± 0.24, 5.78± 0.22 and 4.62± 0.16. and female 3.25± 0.27, 3.71± 0.27, 3.82± 0.25 and 3.50± 0.28, male puppies reared with mother till 12 weeks 4.14± 0.29, 4.42± 0.36, 4.42± 0.31 and 3.78± 0.25and female 3.84± 0.22, 3.37± 0.26, 3.40± 0.18 and 4.68± 0.19and male orphan puppies 3.54± 0.22, 3.50± 0.20, 3.8± 0.18 and 4.35± 0.26and female 3.13± 0.17 , 3.40± 0.21, 3.50± 0.17 and 4.00± 0.18 (5) There was no significant difference in commands test, Come, Sit, stay, drop and wait between female puppies reared with mother till 8 weeks 3.78± 0.25, 4.53± 0.32, 4.96± 0.29, 3.85± 0.29 and 3.92± 0.25, male puppies reared with mother till 12 weeks 4.96± 0.33, 5.07± 0.33, 4.96± 0.35 , 4.57± 0.25 and 5.00± 0.25 and female 3.75± 0.23, 4.37± 0.21, 4.00± 0.21, 4.21± 0.23 and 5.15± 0.21and male orphan puppies 3.93± 0.22, 4.39± 0.25, 3.50± 0.17, 17.57± 0.24 and 3.39± 0.18 and female 3.48± 0.18, 3.34± 0.21, 3.18± 0.15 , 2.88± 0.13and 3.13± 0.16. On the other hand, there was signifacant difference in male Puppies reared with mother till 8 weeks3.93± 0.21, 5.62± 0.31, 4.78± 0.29 ,5.65± 0.19 and5.46± 0.22 (6) There was no significant difference in novel stimuli test, tennis ball, squeaky toy and open umbrella, between puppies reared with mother till 8 weeks and test at 6 ,8,and 12 weeks 4.60± 0.21, 4.40± 0.34, 3.86± 0.27, 5.93± 0.38 , 4.93± 0.34 , 4.66± 0.36, 6.33± 0.50, 4.46± 0.32 and 4.93± 0.30 puppies reared with mother till 12 weeks and test at 4 ,6 ,8,and 12 weeks 4.33± 0.30 , 3.93± 0.40 , 3.80± 0.36 , 4.73± 0.34 , 4.53± 0.23 , 3.86± 0.29, 5.13± 0.37 , 6.20± 0.31, 5.00± 0.23, 6.26± 0.26, 5.13± 0.33and5.20± 0.32 and orphan puppies and test at 4 ,6 ,8,and 12 weeks 2.60± 0.33, 2.16± 0.27 , 2.50± 0.24, 2.16± 0.24, 3.10± 0.27, 2.93± 0.22, 3.70± 0.24, 3.83± 0.32, 3.76± 0.18 , 4.76± 0.27, 4.90± 0.36, and 4.16± 0.24, On the other hand, there was signifacant difference in puppies reared with mother till 8 weeks and test at 4 week 3.73± 0.24 , 3.73± 0.26 and 3.40± 0.27. (7) There was significant difference in social stimuli test, stranger man and stranger woman between male puppies reared with mother till 8 weeks and test at 4 ,6 ,8,and 12 weeks 3.46 ± 0.45, 5.00± 0.36, 3.66± 0.33, 5.26± 0.37 , 4.53± 0.29, 5.13± 0.45, 4.73± 0.30 and 5.86± 0.27puppies reared with mother till 12 weeks and test at 4 ,6 ,8 and 12 weeks 3.20± 0.17, 4.73± 0.30, 3.66± 0.28, 5.53± 0.27, 3.93± 0.18, 4.06± 0.26, 5.00± 0.42 and 6.40± 0.44 and orphan puppies and test at 4 ,6 ,8 and 12 weeks 3.00± 0.19, 2.30± 0.32, 3.56± 0.17, 3.46± 0.26, 3.70± 0.24 , 3.93± 0. 27, 4.23± 0.22 and 4.80± 0.32puppies reared with mother till 12 weeks and orphan puppies and test at 4 ,6 ,8 34and 12 weeks 3.46± 0.40, 2.46± 0.48, 2.93± 0.46, 3.20± 0.36, 4.13± 0.35, 3.86± 0.41, 4.06± 0.33, 4.06± 0.26, 3.66± 0.21, 4.00± 0.30 , 4.33± 0.27, 4.60± 0.25, 4.66± 0.41, 5.13± 0.33, 6.40± 0.34and 5.20± 0.42 and orphan puppies and test at 4 ,6 ,8 and 12 weeks 2.83± 0.25, 3.13± 0.26, 3.83± 0.31, 3.63± 0.22, was significant difference in learning ability and solving problem between Natural reared puppies 2.60±0.04, 2.60±0.04, 38.10±1.29 , 2.77±0.07, 3.06±0.07, 3.07±0.05 , 29.71±1.41, 2.82±0.08, 2.70±0.07and 2.63±0.07Artificial reared puppies 71.01±2.88, 1.34±0.04, 114.35±5.73, 2.00±0.06, 1.67±0.06, 4.91±0.17, 2.70±0.07, 59.79±1.85 1.55±0.05and 1.80±0.07 .
