Abstract:
The current research sought to identify the role of core competencies in the relationship between strategic intelligence and institutional performance, through an analytical study in the Egyptian business environment, and by applying to pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in Egypt, including private sector companies, multinationals, and public business sector companies. To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher developed five main hypotheses and used a survey list. Subsequently, primary data on the study variables were collected from a random sample of 400 employees spanning the three administrative levels. To test the hypotheses, the researcher used a set of statistical methods and tools (i.e., descriptive, inferential) by (SPSS Ver. 25), for testing the first four hypotheses. In addition, (Warp-PLS V. 8.0) was used to test the fifth hypothesis. The results indicate that strategic intelligence plays a role in enhancing institutional performance. In addition, the role of strategic intelligence in enhancing core competencies is confirmed, and the role of core competencies in improving institutional performance is also verified. There is a positive role for core competencies in the relationship between strategic intelligence and institutional performance. Accordingly, the research contributed to establishing a proposed model for the role of core competencies as a mediating variable in the relationship between strategic intelligence and institutional performance in pharmaceutical companies in Egypt. Thus, the study concluded with a set of results and recommendations for decision-makers in the pharmaceutical sector in Egypt that can contribute to improving institutional performance.
