Abstract Al-Farabi was known in scientific circles as a philosopher, but he was not adequately highlighted as a brilliant linguist, with his own philosophy and vision on the emergence and development of languages, and on how language moves from the level of pronouncing letters or sounds to the rhetorical level, and then to the logical and philosophical level. Al-Farabi grew up in the fourth century AH, in an era in which the Arabic language matured to a degree that enabled it to spread and control all corners of the globe. The use of the Arabic language is no longer limited to expressing imaginations, emotions, feelings, and needs - as it was among the Arabs of pre-Islamic times, who used to compete in expressing their imaginations and what was boiling in their chests with poems, speeches, proverbs, and wisdom. Rather, the language became a container for all sciences, so the directions of its words diversified, and people of every industry became They draw from it what expresses and specializes in their craft, so the Arabic language absorbed all scientific and linguistic industries, and was unable to describe everything new in people’s lives, so it assisted those of science in expressing their ideas and inventions, so the language of grammarians appeared, the language of jurists, the language of hadith scholars, the language of theologians, and the language of Philosophers and logicians, the language of art, beauty and music, the language of poetry and literature, the language of commerce and other industries.
