Abstract:
The success of family and childhood institutions in light of the changes imposed by contemporary developments depends on the ability of their leaders to adopt transformational management in dealing with workers and their management, which affects their efficiency and ability to perform work and ultimately contributes to achieving the goals set by these institutions. Hence, the aim of the current research is to study the relationship between transformational management with its axes (ideal influence - intellectual stimulation - development and empowerment) and performance efficiency with its axes (desire to work - ability to work - innovation at work) among workers in family and childhood institutions. The data was completed by applying (general data form, transformational management questionnaire, performance efficiency) to a random sample of (180) workers in family and childhood institutions in Sharkia Governorate, by following the descriptive analytical approach, tabulating the data and using appropriate statistical methods through the Spss21 program. The study reached the following results: The percentage of 41.1% and 48.3% of workers in family and childhood institutions have an average level of transformational management and performance efficiency, respectively. The axis of development and empowerment ranked first among the rest of the transformational management axes, and the axis of innovation at work was at the forefront of the axes of performance efficiency. It was also found that there is a positive, statistically significant correlation at 0.001 between the transformational administration with its axes, and the performance efficiency with its axes among workers in family and childhood institutions. And there are differences in the level of transformational management in its axis according to gender in favor of females, years of experience in favor of the large experience category (10 years and more), the type of institution they work in for workers in the National Council for Women and family counseling centers, and educational level in favor of workers with High level of education. It was also found that the axis of development and empowerment and the variable of age have the most significant influence in explaining the discrepancy in the level of performance efficiency. The study recommended the adoption of family and childhood institutions (the National Council for Childhood - the National Council for Women - institutions for the care of orphans and the elderly - institutions for people with special abilities - family counseling offices -nurseries .........) in cooperation with other partners (Ministry of Education Higher Education and Scientific Research - Ministry of Information) activating the proposed vision about the adoption of transformational management by these institutions, which may contribute to a positive change in the performance of workers and raise their performance efficiency to the maximum degree. Establishing transformational management units within the organizational structure of institutions and activating their strategies and tools in a way that contributes to improving the performance efficiency of employees and achieving development and development for the institution.
