Abstract: |
Mother represents the first educational incubation in the child's life, and so by exerting effective methods to refine the character of her children, the most important of which is to authorize them to perform some household, personal and social tasks and responsibilities - as this is reflected in their personal skills. So, the present study aimed to study the relationship between mothers’ practice of authorization and the personal skills of children in late childhood, where the data were completed through the application of the research tools represented in (a general family data form, authorization questionnaire, personal skills for children) on an objective accidental sample consisting of (220) mother of a child in late childhood stage and (220) sons of males and females (of the same mother). In this study, the descriptive analytical approach was used then data was analyzed and processing the statistical treatments using ( SPSS )program. The study reached a number of results, they were:
(60.5%) of the mothers of the study sample had a medium and low level of practice for authorization, compared to (62.7%) of the children with a medium and low level of personal skills. It was also found that there is a positive statistically significant correlation between mothers' practice of authorization with their axes and the personal skills of children with their axes. There are statistically significant differences between the averages of mothers’ scores in the exercise of authorizing with its axes according to the housing environment in favor of urban, and according to the mother's work in favor of workers, and according to the gender of the child in favor of females in domestic tasks, and according to the order of the child in favor of the older, and according to the educational level of the mother in favor of the higher level. Also, there are statistically significant differences between the averages scores of children in personal skills with their axes according to the mother's work in favor of working mothers, and according to the educational level of mother in favor of the high level, and according to the size of the family in favor of large families (6 persons or more). The study recommended that researchers in the field of home management and institutions to apply the proposed counseling program, and it also recommended The National Council for Motherhood and Childhood to publish the guide booklet prepared on various websites, which raises awareness of the positive practices of the skill of authorization.
