Abstract:
In this work, we present Improved electromagnetism-like algorithm and Differential quadrature technique as new efficient algorithms. Improved electromagnetism-like algorithm is employed to evaluate the parameters of Photovoltaic Single, Double and Three diode Model for three test cases on various PV systems like Schutten STP6- 120/36 (Polycrystalline), Shell SM-55 (Monocrystalline) and PVM 752 GaAs (Thin film). Also, Differential quadrature technique is applied as new technique for maximum power point tracking, utilizing configuration of series PV modules that may deliver maximum power in partial shading conditions. We have designed a MATLAB code to evaluate the parameters of PV cells. Furthermore, MATLAB simulation is executed to display the output power variation and the formation of multiple peaks due to partial shading. The results are verified by eight different experimental I–V sets under various meteorological conditions for Shell SM-55 panel. The solutions of the introduced algorithms are supported by various statistical errors where solutions prove the superiority of presented algorithm compared to other techniques. Further, the simulation proves the success of the presented differential quadrature technique, proven by the graphical and numerical solutions which exhibit the accurate tracking solution along with the rapid-tracking response. Moreover, various changed conditions including cell temperature and irradiance conditions are used to validate each method.
