Abstract:	The talus is a very important bone in the footskeleton. It represents the connection betweenthe leg bones and the other bones of the foot.Its normal anatomy is correlated to its goodfunction. The bone may be exposed to congenitalanatomical variations and deformities, includingcongenital vertical talus (CVT), which affectthe shape and movements of the foot. AlthoughCVT is rare, it is important to keep in mindthe possibility of CVT when examining a footdefect in newborns to avoid neglecting itstreatment and subsequent complications and toavoid extensive surgical intervention.
