conducted a study entitled in order to identify the effectiveness of a recreational games program on adaptive behavior and the level of social interaction skills of mentally handicapped children (who are able to learn). The researcher conducted the experimental method with an experimental design for two groups, one experimental and the other a control one, which is commensurate with the nature of the research. By the intentional method of children with mental disabilities who are able to learn with an intelligence level of 55-70 degrees, who are (34) children with mental disabilities from the age of (7-10) years, the number (12) children were withdrawn in order to conduct the scientific transactions used on them, and thus the research sample becomes The main (22) children were divided into two groups, the first experimental and the second control, each of which consisted of (11) mentally handicapped children, and the researcher used two forms (adaptive behavior, social interaction skills) as data collection tools. The most important results were: 1- The recreational games program has a clear positive impact on all research variables because of its organization, innovation and the use of certain means from the environment that produced positive results. 2- The continuous use of group games in the program units led to the rapid response of these children, which led to an increase in their social skills.
