The study aimed to identify the concept of green economy and its importance in achieving sustainable development, identify the concept of strategic planning and its role in achieving the green economy and develop a proposal to achieve the green economy in university education by using the strategic planning approach. The current study followed the descriptive approach in its steps that help to describe, treat and analyze the phenomenon carefully and accurately reach the results. The current research is limited to the institutions of university education. Modernize educational programs to cover the principles of the green economy, and provide a modern knowledge background to environmental developments that occur in the environment and affect the climate change in general. 2 - Activate the role of the private sector and companies and invite businessmen in their participation in the development of educational programs, monitor and follow-up of this plan to achieve its objectives in meeting the requirements of the green economy. 3 - Benefit from the experiences of developed countries in the world that preceded that used the green economy in the field of education, which helps to integrate this new vision of education in national policies, and consistent with the local community conditions. 4 - Preparing training courses for faculty members by preparing training centers and equipping them with modern equipment and techniques to train them in all fields of solar energy, wind and biomass energy, waste recycling and water use efficiency to be suitable for the environment and to protect them from pollution and other fields.
