Abtract The current research aimed to study the effectiveness of a counseling program to develop mothers' awareness of active motherhood skills in dealing with children with ADHD. On a purposeful, intentional sample of (178) mothers of a child with ADHD. This research followed the descriptive, analytical and empirical approaches. The data was classified and tabulated and the appropriate statistical methods were used through the program Spss, v.20. The results showed the following: - There is a statistically significant correlation between each of the demographic variables of the study (family size - mother's educational level - family monthly income - housing area) and awareness of the skills of active motherhood in its axes. - There are statistically significant differences between the average scores of mothers in the level of awareness of the skills of active motherhood and its axes depending on the place of residence of the family in favor of urban mothers, and according to the work of the mother in favor of working mothers, and according to the sex of the child in favor of mothers of male children. - There is a statistically significant difference between the average scores of mothers in the level of awareness of the skills of active motherhood and its axes according to the level of education in favor of mothers with a high level of education, and according to the size of families in favor of small families, and according to the monthly income of the family in favor of families with high incomes, and according to the child’s arrangement among his brothers in favor of The first child. - There are statistically significant differences between the level of awareness of active motherhood skills among the experimental sample members in its axes (effective communication - acquisition of desired behavior - protection from household dangers - total) before and after the post application of the program in favor of the post application. The study recommended the need to find open communication channels between mothers of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and specialists in the field of home management and institutions through family counseling centers in universities or conducting several research studies and counseling programs by researchers in the field of specialization and holding seminars and guiding convoys directed to mothers of children with disabilities. Special needs to increase their awareness of the skills of effective motherhood in dealing with them and understanding their characteristics and circumstances, in order to identify their life problems and help them solve or mitigate them, because of its great impact on their children.
