Abstract:
The study was carried out on 10 patients of completely edentulous maxillary arch against mandibular bilateral distal extension ridges, to compare the effect of two supporting concepts used in treatment of the maxillary arch which are the implant supported overdentures versus conventional dentures lined with soft liners on the resorption of the maxillary anterior alveolar ridge height. Periodic digital panoramic radiographs were performed immediately, after 6 months, and after 12 months of insertion of the maxillary denture and the bone height changes in the maxillary anterior region were measured using computerized program (Corel Draw X5) The study concluded that the maxillary denture relined with soft liner is a more favorable line of treatment compared to two implant supported maxillary overdenture in cases of combination syndrome.
