Abstract:
The most common solid benign uterine tumours are called uterine leiomyomas. By age 50, the incidence is greater than 70%. Uterine leiomyomas have a 2- to 3-fold higher chance of developing uterine malignancies, and researchers have discovered a link between them and an increased risk of developing uterine cancer. Endometrial cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women in the United States. In Egypt, uterine cancer is the tenth most prevalent type of cancer in women. It is essential to look for novel markers, such as Glut-1 and Progesterone receptor, that could aid in the early identification and prognosis of endometrial cancer biopsy specimens.
