Abstract:
Together with three known galloylglucoses and six known flavonol glycosides, a new hydrolysable tannin was isolated from the leaves of Acacia raddiana. Degradative studies, in conjunction with H-1, C-13 NMR and MS analysis, have shown that the new hydrolysable ellagitannin is 1,3-di-O-galloyl-4,6-(-)-hexahydroxydiphenoyl-beta-glucopyranose. The known compounds are 1-O-galloyl-beta-glucopyranose, 1,6-di-O-galloyl-beta-glucopyranose, 1,3,6-tri-O-galloyl-beta-glucopyranose, isorhamnetin 3-O-rutinoside, quercetin 3-O-rutinoside, quercetin 3-O-gentiobioside, quercetin 3-O-glucosylgalactoside, quercetin 3-O-glucoside and quercetin 3-O-galactoside.
