Abstract:
To determine the effect of injecting common carp males and females with carp Pituitary Extract (CP), Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) hormone and CP+hCG mixture reproductive performance, 228 fish (168 male and 60 female) were divided into three trials, trial 1 (60 male) Common Carp were divided into four treatments (15 fish in each) injected with carp Pituitary Extract (CP), Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) hormone and CP+hCG mixture. Trial 2 (60 female) Common Carp were divided into four treatments (15 female each) injected with carp Pituitary Extract (CP), Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) hormone and CP+hCG mixture. Trial 3 (108 male) Common Carp were divided into four treatments (9 male each group ) injected with carp Pituitary Extract (CP), Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) hormone and CP+hCG mixtureand control group . results showed that pituitary extract injection for male common carp stimulate comparing with human Chorionic Gonadotropin alone or with CP+hCG mixture for better semen parameters egg weight, GSI % in spring season, fertilization ratio and hatchery rate .Hank’s solution was suitable storage diluent for carp milt when stored at 2oC and showed significant (p<0.05) increase in sperm motility at 12, 24, 48, and 72 hrs in CP and CP+HCG compared to hCG and control groups. The proportion of spermatozoa with a particular motility pattern is depending on storage buffer and time.
