Abstract:
Modern information systems’ security is heavily reliant on data encryption techniques. Chaos and image encryption techniques have garnered a great deal of attention with several recently developed models. In this study, we propose a novel hybrid encryption technique utilizing three distinct chaos maps: Baker, Arnold and Henon; each applied to a single channel of Red-Green-Blue. Unlocking encryptions in the proposed model requires three separate keys, thus elevating information security. MATLAB was used for implementation and assessment of the encryption quality metrics. A comparison applied against other techniques provided promising results in visual inspection, correlation coefficient and signal-to-noise ratio. Our findings indicate that future application of this hybrid encryption technique will serve to efficiently enhance transmitted information security, and safeguard sensitive data against unauthorized attack.
