The aim of this research was to develop some abilities for medium distance racers such as speed, flexibility, endurance of the muscles of the legs and arms, special physiological variables such as pulse, vital capacity, blood pressure, maximum oxygen consumption, blood lactate rate and digital achievement level of 800 m / 1500 m. The researcher used the experimental method and the research sample included (9) players from the athletics academy at Sinbillawain Club for the training season 2018/2019 .
Some instruments and tools have been used and the experimental group has been subjected to the proposed training program for (8) weeks with four training modules per week .
The extracted data were processed with the appropriate statistical treatments (including the "T" test to calculate the significance of the differences and analyze the variance as well as the equation of improvement rates .)
The most important results were that the training program using the cross-training method led to the improvement of the abilities of the 800m / 1500m racers such as speed, endurance, bearing muscles of the legs and arms, special physiological variables such as pulse, vital capacity, blood pressure, maximum oxygen consumption, blood lactate rate, and digital achievement level of 800m / 1500m. This is done by designing a proposed training program using the cross-training method .
The researcher recommended the need to pay attention to the development of physical and physiological abilities of the middle distance player and that cross training should be an essential part of the sports preparation programs for young people and adults and the importance of cross training related to the nature of sports activity practicedKeywords: cross-training - physiological variables - pulse, vital capacity, blood pressure, maximum oxygen consumption, blood lactate rate
