Abstract:
The research aimed to study the relationship between emotional sensitivity and both social skills and Procrastination Academic, as well as revealing the effect of each type (male / female), and the study group (first / second / third / fourth), and the college (education / arts / science) on emotional sensitivity. The sample consisted of (689 university students) with an average age of 19 years and eight months, and with a standard deviation (1,209). Using the T-test for the two independent samples, one way ANOVA analysis, and the Pearson correlation coefficient, the results were as follows: There were no statistically significant differences in the two dimensions of negative individual emotional sensitivity and emotional distance as dimensions of emotional sensitivity according to the study group (first - second - third - fourth), while there were statistically significant differences at the level (0.01) in the positive emotional sensitivity towards others, and the total score For emotional sensitivity scale, depending on the study group. The results of the research also indicated the presence of statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) in the total degree of emotional sensitivity and its dimensions (individual negative emotional sensitivity, positive emotional sensitivity towards others) between colleges (education and arts), (arts and sciences) in favor of the College of Arts. In addition to the presence of statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) in the emotional distance between colleges (Arts and Sciences) in favor of the College of Arts. While there were no statistically significant differences between the colleges (Education and Science) in the two dimensions of negative individual emotional sensitivity, positive emotional sensitivity towards others, and the overall score of the emotional sensitivity scale. It was also found that there were no statistically significant differences between the colleges (education and arts) in the emotional distance away. In addition to the presence of a statistically significant positive relationship between the three dimensions of emotional sensitivity (negative individual emotional sensitivity, positive emotional sensitivity towards others, emotional distance), the overall degree of emotional sensitivity and all dimensions and the overall score for each of the social skills and Procrastination Academic of Zagazig University students.
