Abstract:
Civil researchers continuously strive to improve the mechanical properties of the self-compact concrete as it is vital to appropriate production of high reinforcement to vibrators. The development of self-compact concrete is promising for high quality production. The present work evaluates the mechanical properties of self-compact concrete and the associated behavior under different conditions. The key parameters included in this research are binder content of (350,400, and 450 kg/m3 ), silica fume and fly ash ratios, and the VMA addition ratios of (1%, 1.5%, 2%). To achieve this goal, 18 concrete mixes are prepared with different binder contents and VMA additions, in addition to 15% replacement of silica fume and fly ash separately. Such mixes induce improvement in the mechanical properties to the optimum values on increasing the binder contents to 450kg/m3. Methods, results, and discussion are presented in details.
