Abstract: |
Children and homeless adults are two categories that are only united by isolation and deprivation from the family, so what about when someone who is deprived of the feelings of parenting and motherhood is combined with those who have been deprived of the father and mother, especially the elderly who has been decimated by loneliness and the cruelty of children, so by merging him he finds someone who creates a family atmosphere to compensate him Psychologically, socially and even subjectively from what the circumstances have lost him, provided that safe mechanisms are available for that integration. Hence, the aim of the current research is to study the relationship between the safe integration of homeless children and adults in social care institutions (safe physical environment - safe practices for caregivers - safe life activities) and family compensation (compensation for emotional deprivation, family relationships, intrinsic value) as perceived by the elderly. The data was completed by applying (general data form, safe integration mechanisms questionnaire, captive compensation) to a deliberate sample of (74) elderly residents residing in a homeless child and adult care complex in Sharkia Governorate, and by following the descriptive analytical approach, tabulating the data and using appropriate statistical methods through Spss21 program. The study reached the following results:
The vast majority of the elderly in the research sample indicated that the level of safe integration with homeless children was moderately at a rate of 90.5%, and that this contributed to a moderate degree in their family compensation by 72.9%. and also there is a positive, statistically significant correlation between the elderly's perception of safe integration with homeless children in social care institutions and their captive compensation. In addition to the existence of statistically significant differences in the elderly’s perception of safe integration according to age, educational status, age of children who are integrated with them in favor of elderly people of ages (60-<65 years), those with high educational levels, and those merging with children aged (9-<12 years). and found statistically significant differences in the family compensation for the elderly according to the variables (type of the elderly - presence of children - age of children integrated with them - number of integration hours).
The study recommended that the Ministry of Social Solidarity, in cooperation with other partners (Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ministry of Awqaf, Ministry of Information, Egyptian Association for Social Defense, Social Care Institutions), activate the proposed initiative, as it may contribute to a positive change in achieving the safe integration of not only children and adults. homeless; Rather, it is for the elderly and orphans in residential institutions, which contributes to a greater extent in creating a family atmosphere simulating reality and compensating for both groups.
