There Is no doubt that the contemporary world witnesses a breakthrough in the fields of mass communication and information which resulted from the modern achievements regarding science and technology . That's why the whole planet is regarded nowadays as a small village. Consequently , crime has acquired organized , more violent and cross border dimensions where profit represents the ultimate objective . In order to fight such a category of crimes it is necessary to provide evidence of their occurrence . evidently, witnesses play a vital role in this particular area . Thus , the choice of " procedural protection for witnesses " as a topic of this research is of great significance due to its hypothetical and practical importance . Despite, the abovementioned importance this topic is still left without sufficient researches that cover its different legal aspects. In this research the concept of testimony , protection along with the historical development of the scope of protection granted to witnesses are dealt with in the introductory chapter . In section one we deal with legal conditions of the procedural protection for witnesses . while section two is dedicated to discuss the procedures to grant protection i.e not to reveal the address or the identity of the witness . section three discusses the termination of protection . At the end of the research we provided some suggestions that may be employed to create a more precise and just system that operates to serve the best interest of both individuals and the society as a whole especially after enacting the legislation of witnesses and victims protection of 2015 .
