Abstract:
In recent years, most of the Arab and Islamic world has been living in a state of ambiguity and uncertainty in various aspects of life. Some of these countries suffer from unprecedented violence and terrorism, which prompted some to demand the activation of the role of religious institutions and the renewal of religious discourse to keep pace with the requirements of the times, solve its problems, and achieve civic education for their children. The current research aims to determine the most important Features characteristics, and axes of preparing the religious education teacher and his role in achieving civic education for students of the Basic Education Stage. The research adapted the descriptive method, and the Delphi method as one of the future methods. The research dealt with both civic education and basic education in terms of concept, philosophy and objectives, and the reality of preparing a teacher of Islamic religious education in the faculties of Education. The research reached several results. including: The importance of contemporary civic Education for the individual and society; that neglecting civic Education in preparing the Islamic education teacher represents a dangerous phenomenon that hinders the teacher from performing his role; and the shortcomings in preparing the Islamic Education teacher , in the axes of his preparation, and in providing a specialized program to prepar him/her. Finally, the research presents a set of mechanisms and procedures for developing the preparation of Islamic Education Teacher, including: setting conditions for admission and establishing special programs for his/her preparation and focusing on the ethical and moral aspect.
