Abstract: |
The current study aimed to identify the relationship between learning strategies and both problem solving, goal orientation and risk taking, as well as identifying the differences between students in those variables, and also verifying the extent to which learning strategies differ according to these variables, and gender. The study sample consisted of (304) male and female students who were chosen by the multistage random stratified method, and the researcher prepared a number of scales represented in: the learning strategies scale, the problem solving scale, the goal orientation scale, and the risk attitude scale, and these scales were applied to an exploratory sample consisting of (210) ) male and female students, in order to determine the psychometric properties of the study tools, using factor analysis, internal consistency by Alpha Cronbach's method, and analysis of variance. To verify the validity of the hypotheses, the researcher used a number of statistical methods, including: simple regression, “t” test, “Ka2” test, correlation coefficients “Phi - Spearman - concordance”, Kruskal-Wallis test, and Mann-Whitney test.
The results of the study indicated that there is a significant correlation between learning strategies and both problem solving, goal orientation, and the tendency toward risk, and the possibility of building a model for these variables together.
