Abstract: |
The present research aims to study the extent of graduate student's commitment to scientific research ethics accordance with quality standards in scientific theses preparing from their supervisors view, according to the variables of the study level (MA - PhD), the type of research (humanities - applied sciences), and nationality (Egypt - Sultanate of Oman). To achieve this, the researcher chose six criteria: credibility, experience, safety, trust, approval and information confidentiality, using the descriptive analytical research comparative approach, the researcher developed a questionnaire containing these six criteria and applied them to a sample of 196 faculty members who supervise master's and doctoral theses (117 Egyptians, including 78 masters; 43 humanities, 35 applied sciences, 39 doctorates; 21 humanities, 18 applied sciences), and (79 Omanis, including 46 masters; 27 humanities, 19 applied sciences, 33 doctorates; 19 humanities, 14 applied Sciences). By using averages, percentages, standard deviations and (T) test. The results concluded that the commitment of graduate students to scientific research ethics according to quality standards in preparing their scientific theses for master's and doctorate degrees from their supervisors view between low and medium, there are differences between master and doctoral students in both credibility and experience favor of doctoral students, there are differences between humanities and applied sciences in confidence and information confidentiality of research favor of applied sciences students, and there are differences between the Egyptian and Omani students in the credibility and trust favor of the Omani students. Research recommended workshops should be given to graduate students on the importance of commitment to scientific research ethics, that's it relate to the quality of scientific research and academic ethical standards.
