The study aimed to investigate the challenges and barriers that face the research in the Arabic world from the perspective of postgraduate students, regarding some variables. The researchers conducted a descriptive research. The study sample consisted of 166 post graduate students from Egypt and 121 students from Sultanate of Oman. Results showed that there was a significant difference between Phd students and Master students regarding the weakness of the research and the lack of collaboration in favour of PhD students, and significant difference between students in social sciences and applied sciences regarding the lack of relevance between the research and the developed issues in favour of social sciences students. Finally, findings showed that there was a significant difference between Egyptian and Omani students concerning the weak financial allocations. The researchers suggested the importance to connect research with developmental issues.
