Abstract:
The main objective of this thesis is the determination of the protection lost sales (i.e., the probability of not going out of stock) and the potential lost sales (i.e., the unsatisfied demand) when the lead time demand has the modified generalized gamma distribution. Using the maximum likelihood method the five unknown parameters of the modified generalized gamma distribution are estimated. The protection and the complement of protection lost sales, the mean and the variance of potential lost sales for the modified generalized gamma distribution and its special cases were estimated. Finally some conclusions are presented.
